For most people a bike journey around the Czech Republic might not be such a great challenge. But the checkered nature, the lots of “little seas” and reserves, the fortresses dating back from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance castles, Barok palaces and cathedrals, the world famous resorts with mineral water springs and one of the European pearls – the city of Prague - will abolish your negativism.

The transport to Czech is regular and much cheaper than the one to the most of the European countries. Our tour in Czech was selected after a serious processing. We wanted to visit as much interesting places as possible having in mind the time we had devoted in this hot August. We left Prague with a little regret because there is always something more and new to be seen there. The direction I sSouth, the object – Sumava – a nature biosphere reserve with interesting tourist routes.

The warm and dry weather which was with us all of the time allowed us to sleep always in the open air. The prices in the private hotels are between 8 and 10 Euro. At the campings – 3-5 Euros per person, for foreigners. The visits in the museums and the palaces are in-groups with a guide (2-3 Euro per person with a discount for students). We hadn’t serious technical problems with our bikes, either we were lucky or we had a good preparation. But if this is a relief for you – the services of the local bike experts are comparable in price and quality with the Bulgarian ones. In the smaller towns there are small shops well supplied with bikes and spare parts. You can find also maps and guides for the regional and national roads for bicycles. We have much to learn from our Czech colleagues about that!
